"Bankrupt" WINS the 2009 Matrix LitPop Award !!!!!!
Some VERY cool news!
I just found out that "Bankrupt", a chapter-turned-story from my recently completed novel The Indifference League, has WON the 2009 Matrix LitPop Prize!
The final judge for the competition was Heather O'Neill, author of the fabulous Lullabies for Little Criminals.
The other finalists (and their stories) were:
Carly Stewart, "Crazy Old Birds"
Kai Nagata, "The Sherman"
Joel McConvey, "Between the Pickles"
Sarah Mian, "Uncle Fowler's Lessons of Love"
Emmanuel Ekow Erskine, "The Dinner Guests"
Emmanuel, by the way, was a student in one of my creative writing courses, which is pretty cool.
